Another way to save money is to cut down on eating out. It is cheaper to cook your own food. You could even take leftovers and then re-heat them for your lunch the following day.

Never mind cutting back on the showers, I tried to convince my wife that we should try bathing or showering together - in the interest of saving water, but she would not fall for that, ( haha)

There are loads of little things that we can do that will all add up - every $10 you save, will make a huge difference at the end of the year - just put your savings away in your emergency fund account.

Great list of money-saving ideas in all areas - very comprehensive. I tried saving water by cutting back on my showers … but my spouse didn’t think that was a good idea! (Just kidding!)

If everybody does just a little bit, it all adds up to some big savings in the long run.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog, I agree, I think that for the next few years, we are all going to have to learn how to start saving money and learn not to be wasteful. Which is not a bad thing, I am sure that the environment will benefit too if we start cutting back on the way we consume resources.

I already start with replacing all our light bulbs with energy saving CFS ones, and instead of taking ages in the shower, I was in and out in 10 min. So in my house I am leading by example.
