There are literally thousands of ways that you can promote your home based business, and you will see how by making a few minor changes on your site will have a huge impact on your traffic statistics.

Tip 1 Have a look at your Site Map.

Go to Google and do a search of your site like this,

Site:yourdomain.com

In fact while you are doing that that, check Yahoo, MSN etc, it will show you how your site will look ,

Now look at the titles on your home based business site, start with the most important pages, do they look interesting or not, if they are bland, rewrite them.

A better option is to write a few of you page titles down, now go and enter that some phrase into Google and have a look at the top 10 titles.

Which Titles catch your eye and tempt you to click? Some Titles are really awful, some are just a long list of keywords , are these titles better than yours, or can you improve on some of the titles that are on your page. Keep in mind that good titles are written for search engines and humans.

Do not stick to only your industry, have a look at other sites, you will soon have plenty of ideas on ways to improve your home based business page titles.

This step is very important especially if you have an established site, because you more than likely wrote your page titles and meta descriptions years ago

Tip 2  Improve Organic SEO

Search engines are improving all the time and they are gradually getting better at sifting out low quality  home based business websites and ranking them poorly, so if you want to rank high then build quality websites which contain genuinely useful material that other people want to link to,If you want to improve your search engine optimisation, then do the following;
1. Find Appropriate keywords or key phrases and use them in the title, in the page heading, in the introduction, throughout the article, in the meta description, in the alt tags, at the end of the article, in links on the page, in bold or italics etc
2. Use word variations and synonyms  of the keywords throughout your home based business page.
3. Get links from other sites to internal pages as well as to your main page.
4. When linking  to your pages, use appropriate keywords in the anchor text. Vary the anchor  text in your page.

Tip 3 - Submit to main directories
The more high quality links that you have pointing to your home based business site, the more impressed the search engines will be and the higher your web site will be ranked.
Before you submit your site to a directory make sure that you read the submission rules carefully at each site. This will be time consuming, but it will increase you’re your sites chances of getting listed.
If you start adding hundreds of links on a daily basis, the search engines could treat your site as a spam site and bar your site.

If you have a niche website then you can submit your site to niche directories, for example directories on health or dating etc
